Last July, 200 of us showed up at Suncity Club and Resort at 5 in the morning, pinned our BIBs in the dark, and ran loops in the rain until our shoes were soaked and our faces hurt from smiling. This year, we're doing it again. Bigger. Better. 400 spots. And we want you there.
Turns out, a lot of people do. When Dina floated the idea of a monsoon run at Suncity Club and Resort last year, nobody knew if 50 people would show up or 500. 200 showed up. Beginners who had never pinned a BIB before. Runners who've done ultras. A senior citizen who finished more loops than half the field. A group of college friends who signed up as a dare.
Nobody cared about pace. Nobody cared about distance. People ran, walked, cheered strangers, got drenched, and sat down together for breakfast after. That morning became the reason Monsoon Miles exists. This is not a race with podiums and pressure. It's a loop challenge. Pick how long you want to run and just go.
You just ran loops in the monsoon. Your legs are tired, your shirt is soaked, and you have the biggest smile on your face. Now walk 50 steps to the Suncity Club and Resort pool and jump in. Music on, rain still falling, cold water hitting your sore muscles. No running event in Gujarat has ever done this. We thought it was about time someone did.
200 people came last year and told their friends. This year we have room for 400. Registrations opening soon.
